Change of Plans...

So I changed my mind about the bag, the design was getting too complicated. I like doing really complex projects but it would be difficult to write a clear pattern for it. So I decided to go in a completely different direction and design a corset belt.

This is the sketch that I'm going to submit
My grandmother taught me how to do a herringbone stitch, its really thick and sturdy. I think it will be perfect for this design because it would hold its shape well

So fashion week is  coming to NYC and I'm pretty stoked. All the parties have already started. I'm thinking about going to an Absolut party tomorrow night but it's supposed to be 14 degrees and windy. Traveling for an hour in 14 degree weather in a mini dress and tights = frostbite :/ Anyway, I decided to try to get into modeling so that I could be a part of the shows. I have two castings tomorrow, cross your fingers for me!

  1. Burr, but go. You only live once.

Hey that stitch is pretty cool. What kind of closure is on the belt?

My fingeers & toes are crossed :)

  2. Omg, I loooove belts! I'm excited to see how this progresses. Do you think it's something that a beginner/intermediate knitter can create?

  3. Thanks! They are heart-shaped frog closures made from knitted cord. I think a beginner/intermediate knitter could make it. The herringbone stitch is very simple, the trickiest part would be making the closures. But if you are not ready 2 make your own closures you could buy some frog closures at a craft store and it would be just as beautiful :)
